Amusement arcade proposal in Kennet Centre

Plans have been submitted which could see an amusement arcade open within the Kennet Centre.

Permission is being sought to transform the unit that had been occupied by Prohibition Bar on Cheap Street.

According to the documents submitted to West Berkshire Council the vacant former restaurant unit has been vacant since February 2017 when the previous occupier ceased trading from the unit.

It goes on to say: "Despite extensive efforts, it has not been possible to secure a new restaurant occupier for this 408 sqm commercial unit."

The amusement arcade is the latest development planned for the Kennet Centre. It follows on from the imminent opening of an airsoft arena within the former Debenhams unit and the former TK Maxx shop being used as a welfare facility for workers at the Market Street building development.
