Area ranks poorly in office location league table
West Berkshire and Newbury have scraped in to a league table that ranks the top 100 UK office locations except for London for 2018.
The area ranked at 87 in the list compiled exclusively for Property Week by location expert CACI.
Despite its low position in the league table, the area has risen six places compared to last year.
CACI’s Hot 100 UK Office Locations is a ranking of the best new and secondary office locations across the UK, excluding London.
Reading was ranked at number ten in the list while Basingstoke was at number 71.
To compile the ranking, CACI assesses 373 UK locations, taking into account a number of variables. Each location is then ranked on each metric and assigned a grade.
The variables CACI uses include: worker population and demographics; transport connectivity, based on how well connected the location is in terms of public transport and the number of people within a 30-minute drive time; access to good-quality retail and food and beverage outlets; and WIFI connectivity, ranked according to the average WIFI download speed in the area.
West Berkshire scored particularly poorly when it came to public transport access and drive-time accessibility.
