BBC Sports presenter to open new charity shop

Berkshire-based charity, Sebastian’s Action Trust, will be officially opening a new charity stop in Newbury on Wednesday 30 September with support from its newest patron, BBC sports presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star, Mike Bushell.

‘Bas Books & Home’ will open in the Kennet Centre and will sell an extensive range of preloved and upcycled furniture, as well as homeware, bric-a-brac, books and new children’s toys.

Sebastian’s Action Trust was founded in 2003 and provides family respite care, together with emotional, social and practical support to over six hundred families of seriously-ill children from across Berkshire, Hampshire - and beyond.

The Trust’s Chief Executive, Jane Gates OBE, says ‘’This is an exciting development for our charity and will build on the success over many years of our existing bookshop in Bracknell. Although the retail sector and high streets are currently facing many challenges I am confident that the people and community of Newbury and West Berkshire will want to support our new shop.’’

Bas Books & Home will be officially opened at 2pm by the charity’s newest patron, BBC sports presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star, Mike Bushell.
