Breakfast at the Darling Buds of May
Driving between Newbury and Basingstoke can be a bit of drag with the counting of how many roundabouts you have left the only thing for entertainment.
With the advent of the Darling Buds of May cafe within the garden centre, those journeys just bagged themselves a nice little pit stop.
Nestled in a rustic shed, cockerels running amok in the car park and a host of plants on sale, the cafe cooks up a wide range of freshly cooked treats and daily specials.
On our visit we opted for the cooked breakfast with fresh ingredients that Pop Larkin would have found hard to refuse.
The delicious sausage had plenty of flavour and punch alongside the fluffy scrambled eggs as well as the bacon. Meanwhile the chef keeping the salmon away from the heat of the eggs also meant that we avoided a grey salmon situation.
Darling Buds of May sits in Headley opposite the Four Kingdoms Adventure Park and more information can be found on their Facebook page
