Cycling Theatre Company Pedals their Way to the Corn Exchange
The world’s first cycling theatre company, The HandleBards, will be pedalling to the Corn Exchange Newbury on Wednesday 5 June to perform William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
The Handlebards travel between venues on their bikes, with all the set, props and costume necessary, to present this environmentally sustainable production of The Tempest like none other.
Performed by an all-female troupe, this gloriously eccentric adaptation tells the tale of a shipwreck which washes the court of Milan up onto a mysterious desert island that is inhabited by magicians, sprites and monsters and where nothing is as it seems.
With riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter, expect magic, musicality and mystery aplenty in The Tempest at the Corn Exchange Newbury on Wednesday 5 June at 7.45pm. Tickets £17 (£11 under 18s). Age guide 8+. To book tickets please visit the Corn Exchange website, www.cornexchangenew.com or call the Box Office on 0845 5218 218 (calls cost 2p per minute plus your telephone company’s standard access charge).
