Details for Iceland store revealed

A planning application has been submitted to West Berks Council that will see the current Iceland store site transformed into 61 sheltered apartments.

The proposed scheme on Bartholomew Street could feature 61 one and two-bedroom sheltered apartments with a guest suite, fitness suite, communal lounge and landscaped gardens. There will also be 28 car parking spaces for the development and two retail units.

It was reported last week that the developers behind the scheme had been given permission to demolition the Iceland store that currently occupies some of the site early next year.
