Entire Prezzo building to become homes
The chances of a restaurant ever operating in the former Prezzo building have taken a turn for the worse as it was revealed that the entire building could be converted in to homes.
West Berkshire Council has received a planning application that will see the ground floor and basement of the building become homes. This follows on from an application submitted last year for the upper floor to become three apartments.
In total there will be six apartments in the building, with planners behind the scheme arguing that redevelopment of the Just Lucky’s restaurant site in to a residential scheme set a precedent that the principle of ground floor conversion in the location is accepted.
The news that the entire building will become housing will not be good news for those who hoped it would either re-open as a music venue or a food outlet.
