Have yourself an Honesty Group Christmas

From cosy pub lunches around log burning fires and relaxing staycations to cheese, wine and Christmas Day hampers filled with local, hearty produce, the Honesty Group have revealed what they have in store to make this Christmas merry and bright.

Cosy Christmas Staycations at The Crown & Garter

Imagine sipping mulled wine by a crackling fire in a charming old pub before enjoying an exceptional meal, made with the finest locally sourced produce. Pack your bags and head for an idyllic festive staycation at the award-winning Crown & Garter in the quaint village of Inkpen. Surrounded by the North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Beauty, it’s the ideal peaceful retreat to spend quality time with your loved ones.

Looking to escape the madness of Christmas Day this year? Book in a two night stay for two (£510), arriving on Christmas Eve. Enjoy dinner on the 24th, a full Christmas lunch on the 25th and a Boxing Day brunch or lunch the following day. Breathe in the fresh country air and take in the beautiful scenery of the North Wessex Down during a brisk country walk or bike ride. Retire at the end of the day in one of the 10 beautifully designed bedrooms.

One night stays are also an option if you want a shorter break from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day or Christmas Day to Boxing Day, which includes Christmas lunch for two, for £260. Any extra nights will be priced at £130 per room, on a bed and breakfast basis.

The Crown & Garter will also be taking bookings for a five-course Christmas Lunch (£65 pp) including starters such as pan-fried scallops with spiced parsnip puree and parsnip crisps; Goat’s cheese, fig and onion tart; and smoked duck with liver ravioli and port jus. Tuck into mains of classic roast turkey with all the trimmings; grilled Bere Mille rack of lamb with crushed potatoes; or pan-fried gnocchi with roasted butternut squash. Top it all off with Bourbon pumpkin cheesecake; cinnamon chocolate or traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce.

Crack on with the festivities on Boxing Day with brunch or lunch. Sip on rounds of Bloody Mary’s and bellinis whilst relishing in Eggs Royale; the Crown & Garter Full English; braised beef brisket with root vegetable mash; or roasted hake fillet with chickpea and chorizo stew.

Bunker Down at the Hartley Arms on Christmas Day

With a menu dictated by the seasons and a drinks list celebrating local distilleries and producers in the area alongside a cosy, countryside feel, the newly opened Hartley Arms in Donnington is the perfect place for your Christmas Day lunch.

After opening up presents, bundle up and enjoy a walk around Donnington Castle or the picturesque Avon Canal followed by a warm and filling Christmas lunch with the family.

The easiest and most convenient way to get all your Christmas shopping done is through Honesty’s online web shop. Choose from a range of festive treats, gifts and the highest quality, locally sourced produce. All you have to do is order online and pick up from your local Honesty store.

The Christmas Day Hamper from £95.00 is packed with everything you’ll need for a delicious Christmas Day lunch all based on the rule of six. Choose between a Walters Farm turkey, Bere Mill beef wellington, beef rib or a salmon wellington, alongside Chalk Stream smoked trout, roasties and all the veggies, plus stuffing, Honesty made bread sauce, cranberry sauce and the all important Christmas pud.

The wine hampers in partnership with My Fine Cellar are the perfect gift for any oenophile. Priced from £125.00 for the ‘Tour de France’ (6 wines), each purchase includes an online zoom wine tasting, so you can learn all about the wines whilst enjoying them. If you can’t spend this year with family and friends, buy a wine hamper for you both and you can join the class together. A cheese hamper packed with local cheeses also makes a fabulous gift.

Anyone that knows Honesty knows they are famous for their cakes and bakes. The online shop will also be selling Christmas puddings, Christmas cakes, bread wreaths, mince pies, Christmas cookies and gingerbread people, all made, of course, with no additives, preservatives or hidden nasties.
