Hotcha gets cool reception

New Asian fast-food takeaway, Hotcha, hasn’t won over Newbury just yet according to your reviews.

The London Road takeaway opened last month, bringing a new offering to Newbury as part of the small chain's expansion in the south east.

According to Just Eat, Newbury hasn’t fallen in love with Hotcha just yet, scoring just three out of five on its feedback scores.

Among the comments from customers there's this:

  • My daughter convinced me to try them again. so we did. First get a call from restaurant no curry sauce can I chose a different dish. (last time they forgot the ice cream) Food delivered all I can say the local chinese restaurants have very little to worry about... its overpriced poor quality food trying to get convince us its good by smart marketing and packaging. We are very lucky we have better quality with lower prices in the newbury area.

  • Cannot recommend. Estimated arrival time put back on submission of order but good delivered a further 35 minutes after that (total of 90 minutes). One dish labelled as veg spring rolls but actually meat in black bean sauce. Food quality poor e.g. Prawn toasts undercooked and seasoning not mixed into Singapore noodles. Will not use again.

  • Everything was spot on. Hot and tasty food. Polite driver. Good prices. Very quick. Really hope you continue to deliver to this high standard. Thanks

  • Great food great presentation delivered quickly would highly recommend
