Inspectors were not bowled over
Hygiene inspectors recently visiting the Newbury Leisure Park have scored the MFA bowling alley just one star.
On a scale of zero to five, one is the second lowest mark and inspector can give.
Inspectors were said to be particularly concerned about the management of food safety. This related specifically to systems or checks being in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
They said major improvements had to be made to this part of the operation. Further improvements also have to be made to hygienic food handling and the cleanliness of the building.
The inspection took place in November 2017.
