Kennet Radio to be on FM in March
Local community radio station, Kennet Radio, will be switching on its FM signal next month.
From Saturday 10 March the station will be available across Newbury and Thatcham on 106.7 FM
Kennet Radio’s chairman, Julian Swift-Hook said, “It’s fantastic news. After more than five years of hard work we are bringing truly local radio back to Newbury and Thatcham.”
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, past and present, and to everyone who has supported us with donations,” he continued. “We really couldn’t have done it without you.”
Kennet Radio is run by volunteers and is primarily funded by sponsorship and donations. Most of the programmes are made by people who live and work in the area.
Programmes include a wide variety of music as well as local news and sport, what’s on around the area, traffic and travel, discussions and phone-ins on local issues and events, and interviews with local people.
