Monkey Tree cafe opens
A new cafe has sprung up amidst the snowy storms in the centre of Newbury.
The Monkey Tree opened where the Bakehouse Deli was on Northcroft Lane.
Cooking up a storm for a just a few days, the new cafe has already become a hit with new customers checking out the wide range of offerings from cakes and sandwiches and even vegan shepherds pies.
The Monkey Tree has been set up by Denzil Carter. He said: "I've been looking all over the country for a venue that felt right, and Newbury is definitely that! It's a wonderful little town."
"A lot of the market is the branded giants like Costa or Pretty - which makes it fertile ground for an independent food offering that can pivot to the nuances of the market far quicker than the larger operations, such as the Yorkshire Pudding Wraps or burritos that we offer, or our ever-expanding vegan range. Although I was initially buying a business near Exeter, this one in Newbury came on the market and it ticks all the boxes."
As well as the cafe, the Monkey Tree also offers food deliveries in the Town Centre.
