MP shortlisted for award
Newbury MP, Laura Farris, has been shortlisted for the MP of the Year Awards.
The MP who was elected to the Newbury seat in December 2019, was among a group of parliament members to successfully campaign for the "rough sex" defence to be banned. She has also been vocal in supporting local groups during the lockdown among other things.
Laura tweeted: “Really honoured to have been nominated for #MPoftheYearAwards alongside some brilliant colleagues.”
The awards are organised by The Patchwork Foundation who work to equip young people with the necessary skills and experience to encourage active participation in democracy and wider civil society.
