New artwork unveiled in Goldwell Park
Visitors to Goldwell Park today got the chance to see a new temporary art installation.
The piece called, In Memorium, has been created as a place of reflection in tribute to those who lost their lives in the Covid-19 pandemic. Created from bed sheets, the artwork forms a giant red cross that pays tribute to all the NHS and care workers who have selflessly worked during the crisis.
This free outdoor installation will stand for one week and may be seen from within the flags or from a distance. To enhance your experience, a newly commissioned audio track by artists from Massive Attack and Portishead entitled A Moment in Time is available to download from the Corn Exchange’s website for you to listen to as you explore the installation.
In Memorium is free to explore at any time of day and will stand in Goldwell Park, Newbury from Wednesday 16 to Tuesday 22 September. For more information please visit www.cornexchangenew.com/inmemoriam.
