New parking restrictions being mulled over

A new plan to improve road safety at identified problem locations and address obstruction concerns related to inconsiderate parking along the route of the A4 Thatcham to Newbury cycleway has been drafted.

West Berkshire Council hope their plan will resolve issues related to resident parking, together with the management of parking on highways in various locations across the district.

Among the changes being proposed in the town centre are:

  • Changes to parking restrictions to facilitate the Bear Lane roundabout highway improvement project

  • Greenham Road cul-de-sac restrictions as requested by residents to address rail commuter parking and obstruction concerns

  • West Street (outside Nos 66-84) convert single yellow line restriction to include Sunday and restrict overnight parking to Permit Holder Only

  • Request from Falkland Cricket Club to extend double yellow opposite their entrance on Enborne Street as delivery lorries are unable to access the site.

You can have your say on the plans by checking out the West Berkshire Council website.
