Paddington Bear themed street names for new housing scheme

Several streets in a new housing development next to Vodafone's head office office on the A339 are to be named with a Paddington Bear theme.

According to documents presented ahead of a Newbury Town Council Planning meeting, the new housing development in Shaw-Cum Donnington could have a street called Marmalade Avenue.

As well as an avenue named after a preserve, Peru Place, Paddington Drive and Andean Way are also suggested.

The author of Paddington Bear, Michael Bond, was born in West Mills in 1926. He sadly passed-away aged 91-years-old in 2017.
