Prohibition to close
A popular Newbury bar is closing.
Prohibition on Cheap Street has just announced on its Facebook that its doors will be closing for good.
In a statement, they said: "Unfortunately we will be packing our bags and closing our doors. It has a been a brilliant year and we have loved getting to know you all! A huge thank you to everyone for supporting us over the last 12 months. We will miss you Newbury!"
Prohibition opened a year ago, selling itself as a speak-easy, bringing jazz and blues music to the Town.
The news comes nine months after fellow Cheap Street pub the Diamond Tap's owners announced they were putting the premises up for sale.
