Pubs start selling booze for a pound a pint
Several pubs in Newbury Town Centre have started selling a number of their ales for as little £1 a pint.
The reductions are being made after it was announced that pubs would not be able to sell alcohol for takeaway when England goes in to a second lockdown on Thursday.
Among those selling for the low price is the Monument on Northbrook Street. They urge you to support your local pub while you still can, because they need your support more than ever.
Meanwhile the Waggon and Horses in the Market Place is offering £1 a pint and 50p for a half pint. Posting on social media, they said: "So before we go into lockdown on Thursday, we’re doing a deal on cask ale! We’ve got a pint of 6x for you for the low price of 99p or a half pint for 50p!! Have it to drink in or bring your own jug or bottle and take it away!!"
Wetherspoons has also launched a four-day sale with pints of real ale going for just 99p in a bid to get rid of stock before England goes back into lockdown.
Please drink responsibly.
