Reviewing the Curry House

A new Indian and Bangladeshi takeaway called the Curry House has opened on Bartholomew Street opposite the Dolphin.

It has already caught the eye with one guy on Tripadvisor saying they were really impressed by the quality and freshness of the ingredients.

So with that mind we had a quick drink in the Dolphin before nipping over the road to sample what was on offer.

While not the most authentically Indian dish, I opted for the mixed grill. It featured everything from chicken tikka, lamb tikka, sheekh kebab and a tandoori chicken on the bone.

All of that came to a more than reasonable £8.50 and could easily have fed two. The chicken was moist and the kebab fantastic.

Feeling a need for some fish, but not fancying what was on the menu, Mrs NBY was delighted when the Curry House said they would swap the chicken in the garlic chicken dish for prawns.

Although there were lots of them, the prawns weren't huge and were more shrimp than king prawn with the garlic acting as a subtle accompaniment.

With chips and a naan along with some salad and poppadoms that were thrown in for free, the total came to under £20.
