Small number of pot holes fixed

Just 20% of reported pot holes are repaired in West Berkshire according to a cyclist group.

The website fillthathole.org.uk logs reports from cyclists and then passes them on to the Council but has found that in this part of the world only a small number are actually filled.

Out of the 601 holes that are reported to the Council, just 122 have been reported back to have been fixed.

One outstanding report relates to the road leading up to and all around the roundabout between Pinchington Lane and Deadmans Lane.

West Berkshire Council was ranked 114th best in the country out of 214.

A spokesman for Fill That Hole said the figures may be skewed by the number of cyclists in the region, but said it was a strong snapshot of the state of the nation's poorly maintained roads."
