Sovereign moves to new operational hub on Greenham Business Park
Greenham Trust has announced the completion of an agreement this week with Sovereign Housing Association to develop a brand new operational hub for them on Greenham Business Park.
The new 28,000 sq ft, three storey building will be positioned in a prominent location on the business park. The move for Sovereign is part of their new, five-year strategy to maximise their social impact, part of a rethink of how they deliver services, replacing 20 offices and depots with new, modern hubs.
Sovereign has a long and successful history within Newbury and the decision to retain a regional hub close to the town on Greenham Business Park is excellent news for West Berkshire. The Local Development Order, and experience of the Estates Team at Greenham Business Park, has allowed Sovereign the flexibility to develop a first-class workspace.
This will enable them to support customer services to their residents from the best location whilst creating a better working environment for their people and reducing their long term costs.
Working with Greenham Business Park also supports Sovereign’s social purpose, as the Trust utilises its surplus income to deliver funding for charitable purposes in the local area, via its owner, Greenham Trust. Sovereign already works with Greenham Trust, via The Good Exchange, to run a community grants programme, so this agreement serves to enhance this already successful partnership.
Nicole Sharp, Executive Director Property Services for Sovereign, said: “Greenham Business Park is the perfect location for an operational hub for our frontline teams, as we can serve around half of Sovereign’s customers from this convenient central location. The site also offers us the opportunity to bring a combination of expertise together under one roof, at the same time as allowing agile and flexible working patterns.”
Chris Boulton, CEO of Greenham Trust and owner of Greenham Business Park, said, “We are delighted to be able to welcome Sovereign to an excellent building on the business park which fulfils our strategy to enhance charitable giving locally through the surplus income created by our property assets and utilising The Good Exchange, the Trust’s online fundraising platform. This new agreement comes hard on the heels of our completion of tailored offices for premium local businesses including James Cowper Kreston, Roc Technologies and Total Rail Solutions.”
