Spare Wheel spins open
Newbury got a taste of the Spare Wheel tonight as the venue's doors were opened for the first time.
The Spare Wheel in the Market Place is owned by the same team that steer the Catherine Wheel, and they are promising customers something new in Newbury.
Owner Warwick Heskins, said: "I decided to open up on the middle of a pandemic. In fact I made the decision to do it after the lockdown started.
"I am bringing something different to Newbury with a wide range of beers that I have admired for a while but was unable to get them into the Catherine Wheel."
The menu features everything from tapas to burgers and picnic bowls for those looking for something a little bit healthier.
Tonight we got to sample a few treats. This included hummus and tortilla chips, tampura battered squid, tempura beef, a chicken salad and falafel.
It is understood the venue will officially open on Thursday.
