Success at auction
Two Cheap Street properties that went under the hammer a few days ago have been successfully sold.
The unmodernised Grade II listed mid terrace building 41 Cheap Street that sits next to the current location of the Post Office sold for £287,000. That's just £7,000 more than the guide price but significantly more than double the £140,000 the previous owners paid for it in 2012 according to the Land Registry.
Although empty for many years, the building was last used by Hodgeson Furnishes.
K's Cafe and apartment had a guide price of £200,000 and were sold for £240,000.
It is not known who bought the new properties.
