The latest from the Kennet Centre
Rumours are circulating about what the future looks like at the Kennet Centre.
This week property website, the Thames Tap, revealed that the Kennet Centre is understood to be under offer to Meadow Partners.
They stated on their website, that the group, based in New York and London, has a major residential division in the UK.
"The shopping centre, which has struggled since the opening of the Parkway Centre in 2011, has been the subject of considerable speculation about a possible redevelopment. The price we have been told is around £10 million but other sources suggest it is lower. Meadow Partners declined to comment."
Meadow Residential, an affiliate of Meadow Partners, is a residential property developer specialising in acquisition, planning and development of sites across London and the South East.
Meanwhile work is yet to begin on the new bowling alley nearly four months after it was due to start. The Superbowl UK project was set to be located within the unit previously occupied by TK Maxx.
When asked if the bowling alley is still going to open, the Kennet Centre responded: "We do not yet have any confirmation of the Bowling Alley at this time I'm afraid."
The Facebook page for the scheme has been removed.
