Thousands of pounds worth of damage to play areas
Newbury Town Council is reporting that over the last three weeks damage to their play areas in the town will cost thousands of pounds to repair.
In a statement the Council said: "We're currently working hard on a number of improvements to some of our play areas in the town including new surfacing and play equipment. We have been disappointed that over the last 3 weeks we have had over £3,400 worth of damage and vandalism to play equipment and safety barriers. If you see anyone acting suspiciously at our play areas and parks you can contact the Police on 101 or via their website."
Newbury Town Council has invested heavily in the town's play areas recently. This included the installation of safer surfacing at Blossom’s Field, a new playground at Skyllings as well as improvements at the City Recreation Ground.
