Two bars to re-open in town next week
Two bar and restaurants are to re-open next week in the centre of Newbury.
The Dolphin is expected to officially re-open on Tuesday 8 May, but hints on social media suggest that they will be having a soft launch over the bank holiday depending on how the last pieces of building work progress.
Located on Bartholomew Street, the Dolphin will add a piece of classy competition to Newbury's drinking and dining venues. They have said the new place will have the best beer garden in the whole of Newbury and judging by their sister pub in Salisbury, we can expect a top quality joint.
Meanwhile to the north of the town centre, the Oxford Street Kitchen and Bar is going to open on Thursday 10 May. From 5pm we have been told that there will be live music and a happy hour to get guests back in to the swing of things on Oxford Street at the Chequers Hotel.
Hotel bosses have said that the investment is part of an effort to get more people non-hotel guests eating at the hotel.
