Two new retailers for Retail Park

It has been confirmed that Lidl and Deichmann are two of the retailers signed up to occupy empty units at Newbury Retail Park.

Deichmann, a German footwear retailer with a store in Basingstoke, has contracted to take 6,000 sq ft of space, comprising half of the former Mothercare unit, on a ten-year lease.

Meanwhile, Lidl will take over the unit that had been occupied by Homebase.

Earlier this summer, Hobbycraft also opened at the Retail Park.

"These new lettings, which further diversify the income profile of the retail park, are a clear reflection of the hard work undertaken by our team to enhance the defensive qualities of our assets," said BMO Real Estate Partners' Richard Kirby.

"This recent activity signifies that there is clear appetite from retailers for the right space, and we are confident that all three lettings will be complementary to the brands we already have at the park, providing a boost to overall footfall."
