Valentine's Day date ideas

It's almost that time of the year when the supermarket shelves are stacked to the brim with red roses, teddy bears and expectations that this year you will get more than the flowers from the Swanbridge Marks and Spencer.

Here is our guide to some date options in Newbury Town Centre.

Swing back to the 1960s and treat the other half to some Elvis at Nelsons Diner in the Kennet Centre. The retro burger joint is offering a kir royale on arrival, a four-course meal and some hip gyrating from the Elvis impersonator. All of this for £35 each and it's all happening on the big day itself – Tuesday 14 February.

We all love getting wrapped up for some winter horse racing and Newbury Racecourse has come up trumps with the Betfair Super Saturday on Saturday 11 February. Tickets start from just £20 with a spot on the Grandstand.

Mio Fore has been ranked as one of Newbury's best new restaurants. Bringing some old school Italian charm this place will be the perfect spot for some romantic cosyness. From the amazing pizzas to the traditional pasta dishes, we reckon this will be the top stop for you to guarantee you some insalata mista fun.

If you're travelling by train and don’t fancy going for a walk much further than the platform edge, then Prezzo is a good bet. The chain is offering you the chance to romance with three courses and a prosecco for £22.95. Just a note though that this offer is only available from Tuesday 14 February until the following weekend.

Re-creating Ghost could be on the cards if you head down to the Corn Exchange on Saturday 18 February for a creating with clay session. For £30 each you can get your hands on making up some gargoyles and sculpture.
