Valentines dinner ideas

If love is in the air for you, then here is a quick run-down of what restaurants are cooking up romance this year for Valentines Day in Newbury.

Slug and Lettuce – Grab yourself some canal-side views at the Slug along with a three-course meal for £34.95. The menu includes a baked camembert, grilled salmon and wrapping up with a pornstar martini cheesecake. You will get a glass of fizz. Book ahead and get a free gift.

Bills – A delicious sounding crumbled haloumi stick kicks things off as a starter at Bills in the Market Place with a three-course meal on offer for £19.95. There is a Wellington, sirloin and seabass for mains with warm cinnamon doughnuts waiting for you at pudding.

Café Rouge – Overlook Victoria Park and bag yourself a three-course meal with a glass of champagne for £24.95.

The Dolphin – They are keeping it low-key with their regular menu, some sharing specials and plenty of bubbles apparently.

Bella Italia – This old favourite is cooking up a romantic rendezvous for £19.99 per person with a glass of fizz. The three-course menu on offer includes a fondue to share, prawn and lobster bisque risotto as well as a three-scoop gelato to wrap things up.

Sushi Maki – It has been described as the best sushi ever and the guys have pulled out all the stops again with a special menu featuring a selection of sushi, sashimi and deserts.

ASK – After a little makeover ASK will be back open. They suggest getting saucy with their pasta filled three course menu for £19.95. There maybe even a Lady and the Tramp moment with all that spaghetti flying around.

Hatchet Inn - Two can dine at Wetherspoon for £20. It includes two main meals, desserts and drinks from their Valentine’s Day menu.

The Newbury - For £32 the team at the Newbury will showcase their cooking know-how with a three course meal and fizz. Their options include stone bass, rib eye steak and roast cauliflower.
