Victoria Park Family Day 23 June

Newbury Town Council will be holding a Free Family Day in Victoria Park on Sunday 23 June

from 12 noon to 4pm, following the success of last year's event.

There will be entertainment throughout the day, which will include traditional Punch & Judy shows, face painting, dancing and singing on the Bandstand with the Ragtime Theatre School, local folk band Whoosya and Watership Brass.

There will be live falconry displays throughout the afternoon and Kennet Radio will be there too broadcasting live from the event and we’ll even have a Fire Engine for you to explore!

The local branch of ‘Rugby Tots’ will be coming along so you can meet them. They run groups for 2 – 7 year olds to develop their social and physical skills, in a fun, positive environment.

Cllr Martin Colston, Leader of the Council said: “We are extremely proud of Victoria Park and

would like to invite everyone along on Sunday 23 June to see what’s going on and enjoy all the facilities on offer – and it’s all for free on the day!”

The Bowls Club are happy to welcome new members and the Club will be open for everyone to look around and have a chat about membership and how you can get involved.

The tennis courts will be open too, and as part of the ‘Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekend’, our coaches, the National Tennis Association, will be on hand to chat about classes and how you can get involved. Membership for a whole year for a family costs just £44 and with the new floodlighting, the courts are even more accessible for everyone and if you join on the day, you get 1 month’s free membership! You can even book a FREE coaching slot for the day, via our website: www.newbury.gov.uk/tennis

Victoria Park's Splash Park will be open, as it is every day throughout the summer from 10:30am until 5pm so children can make the most of the day, and hopefully the sunshine.
