Visitors to Newbury dropping
The number of people visiting Newbury has reduced by more than 100,000 in November compared to the same time two years ago.
Information provided by Newbury Bid shows the massive drop in the number of people visiting the Town Centre, with footfall for the year to date down 2.6% down on the previous 12 months.
The busiest day in November was Saturday 5 November when 33,000 of us trekked our way through the Town Centre.
Although the numbers don’t look good for the Town, Newbury did perform better than the overall trend for the South East which had a bigger drop.
Newbury Bid is the area from the train station across to the Parkway and up to Waitrose within which the businesses have voted to invest collectively in local improvements to enhance their trading environment.
