Walkabout to open on St Patrick's Day
Cheap Street bar the Diamond Tap looks like its doors will close for one final time next month ahead of a major make over.
The pub is being re-branded and made over by its owner, Stonegate, and will become a Walkabout.
It is understood that the Diamond Tap will be closed from Monday 12 February ahead of a re-opening on Saturday 17 March.
The last year has been a difficult one for staff at the former Wetherspoons pub after it was put on the market, taken off, and then put back on again before it was eventually sold.
A recent planning application to re-brand the pub with bright lighting has caused concern for some.
