Waterslide down Northbrook Street

The Newbury Bid Team is looking to build on the success of the Corn Exchange's lantern parade and night of 1,000 voices that took place over the Christmas period.

Despite some disappointment about the short amount of time that visitors hung around in the Town Centre after the Christmas light switch, the Newbury Bid Team are ploughing on with new ideas.

Among the suggestions being mulled over include bidding for the Coca Cola lorry to visit the Town Centre over the festive period, introducing curling in the Market Place and a zip wire down Northbrook Street.

The most exciting suggestion would be a waterslide down Northbrook Street, similar to what has been used in many towns across the UK including Bristol.
