Where to go on a date in Newbury
Sometimes the special one who gets the butterflies flying and puts you on cloud nine wants more than a cheeky Nandos and night at the Vue.
So with the days getting hotter and the nights longer, here is our quick guide about where to woo in West Berkshire - well just Newbury actually!
First up consider the Ugly Duckling Pottery Studio on Bartholomew Street. They host adult only sessions every so often so there is a chance you could get that Ghost moment you have been dreaming of after all.
Newbury's Artisan Market is a great place to go exploring and also pick up food from local producers. Our thought is get some fresh ingredients and then dash home to cook up a storm before the other half arrives. Or bag some local stuff and head up to Donnington Castle to have a picnic.
Another idea we have is a dance class. Now we aren't talking flamenco or line dancing. We are in fact suggesting creating your own contemporary dance. Stick with us. Explore the vast landscape of contemporary dance, from contact improvisation to release technique in these fun must-try workshops for adults of all abilities. More info from the Corn Exchange. Sounds fun!
While we said we had some ideas that didn't just involve a night at the Vue, we do reckon that nights at the outdoor cinema could be a good option. There are a couple of evenings at the flicks lined up this summer at Newbury Racecourse with Luna Cinema and Shaw House with Cult Screens.
Our final idea involves sitting back and enjoying a canal boat ride. Jump on board the Jubilee for an hour so and head up towards the Northcroft Leisure Centre before heading back. It's only £6 each and you get to see Newbury from a different angle.
Pick up your racket and go all Tim Henman on your other half. With the tennis courts at Victoria Park looking so good these days, why not have a game of a tennis? Or Ping Pong at the Kennet Centre.
